MANEATER, 2019

Installation

Bethany Arts Community, Ossining/NY

MANEATER is an installation project in which banners with reinterpretations of European paintings, from the 16th and 17th centuries, in which women stage victorious scenes in the face of male violence were exposed.

The four banners belonging to this installation are Salome, Judith, O que queremos celebrar? and What do we want to celebrate?.

What do we want to celebrate?, 2019

O que queremos celebrar? and What do we want to celebrate? they are banners that propose a reflection on the images that are normally printed on these objects. When we carry images of strong women, conquering not just a man, but an idea of male sovereignty, what do we get? What do we celebrate?
